BIOGRAPHY:
Welcome to my website. I taught at Carson - Newman University for 24 years. I retired from CNU in 2022. As a professor of art (photography) I taught all levels of photography including analog and digital classes. I also taught art history and the history of photography. My teaching career began as an adjunct instructor at Walters State Community College in 1994. I earned an MFA (photography) from East Tennessee State University and a BA in History from Carson-Newman College (University). In 2016 I established the Knoxville Community Darkroom. The KCD supports analog photography and local artist with a darkroom space and a gallery. As a fine art photographer I work with analog and digital processes. I am proficient in 4X5 and 8X10 formats. I was born and raised in East Tennessee. Many of my photographs reflect both the landscape and the people of the area. My work has been shown in galleries and museums across the United States.
